Identifying person in a photograh in military uniform?
« on: Saturday 04 January 14 12:59 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I have an old photograph of a man wearing military uniform possibly WW2, that I found in my late nan's box of photograps.  I've asked her only surviving sister if she knows who it is but she doesn't recognise him, and said it is probably off my grandfathers side of the family.  The only 'possible' clue in the photo are the numbers '2698' printed on the bottom corner of the photograph, could this be a soldier number or something?

Its really bugging me not know who it is, and its 10 yesrs too late to ask my nan   :(

If you post the picture onto the armed forces board, someone will be able to help. Lots of indexes exist online, but someone will need to identify the uniform first.
