My gt-gt-gt-gt-grandfather, William Warman, was described as a stockbroker when he died in 1826. From at least 1815-1818 he lived in Norfolk St, just off the Strand, and a few yards from St Clements Dane: not the richest area of London, but not poor.
I can find very little about the life of a London stockbroker at the beginning of the 18th century, apart from a very brief history of the London Stock Exchange; but presumably they didn't all work there. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
