Nelson family, Garsdale
« on: Monday 06 January 14 08:31 GMT (UK) »
My ancestor was the Rev. Richard Nelson (born circa 1739, d. 1802), curate of St John the Baptist, Garsdale, from 1763 and thought to have been vicar about ten years later.  He was probably the incumbent when William Wordsworth visited the church with his sister and described it as "a lowly house of prayer in a charming little valley".

I'm thoroughly confused by all the Nelsons in and around Garsdale at about that time.  Does anyone happen to know anything about Richard's family?
