1559 Gargrave burial
« on: Tuesday 07 January 14 16:25 GMT (UK) »
Hi there!

I was wondering if anyone has access to the microfiches of the Gargrave parish registers? There is an entry for an illegible wife of Thomas Armystead being buried there in 1559. She would be my 12xGreat Grandmother and, whilst the early 1900s transcriber felt unable to take a guess at her name, I was wondering whether anyone with access to the fiches (and perhaps with more eager eyes?) might be willing to have a look for me?

  Many thanks,

    Stephen

Thanks for the swift response! As I.said though, I've got access to an electronic version of the.registers, but that's the one where the transcriber couldn't work out Thomas' wife's name on her 1559 burial. I was wondering if someone with access to fiches of the originals could try and transcribe the missing forename!

Looking at page 46 of the above book - Transcribed from the original registers, note made that April 1558 3 burial entries torn from records.
Given that the fiche is a photographic copy of original entry, if wanted record is one of those 3 missing then it is a non starter.
