hi anabanana, you would have to ask mcintosh how he knows it's the 4th/5th maybe a little PM to him might get an answer from him,Im guessing Its the badge,or the sporran.but really dont know.at this stage Im just guessing. B/B

Im curious about the helmet and the rifle,Im wondering if the rifles were just training rifles and used in drill practice,if the helmet is a pith helmet it could have been the sort used in Palestine or India.I am hoping someone will have an answer. :)

anyone know if the helmet in the photo is a tin helmet or a pith helmet? and what is the rifles? Doesn' look like the Lee enfield 303.

Definitely a steel helmet in the photo, as for the rifles, the ends of the barrels look blocked, so could be training rifles.  They blokes look like they are on a training camp somewhere, Bell tents in the background and bedding/kit, all over the place. ???
