My thanks to all contributors for the info I now have.  Perhaps Bridget did leave Scotland after the death of her husband  - I've a lot to occupy the brain!

I have now progressed further with this posting...

Bridget appears to have married 2ndly to John Kennedy (marriage not yet located) and had two children Ann Brown Murray Kennedy born 24.7.1873 Rutherglen,Lanark, and William James Kennedy born 23.5.1868 Stevenson,Ayrshire,Scotland.  She may also have had another son Thomas born 13.4.  1866 Stevenson, Ayrshire, registered as "Kenny"..(LDS website) - Parents John Kenny and Bridget Doolaughty.  I note on Mundia Bridget's lines have been researched although her parents names have not yet been located.

Hi Alma,
If Bridget was married to John Kennedy, the date and place of their marriage should be recorded on the birth certificates of William b.1866 and Ann. b 1873.
Noticed on Family search that Ann's birth has parents recorded as John Kennedy and Bridget McCutchion (her first married name)-
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FQ8D-YF8
Also if Bridget's age is correct on 1861 Census - age 36 this makes her 48 when having this baby. Wow! Life must have been tough.Widowed then remarryring and having babies well in to her 40s. Looby :)

Yes, I suppose I should NOT assume a marriage until I locate the certificate.  I've not researched much in the Scottish records so its great to see how much detail is recorded compared to my Irish certificates.  I may well go online and order the marriage lines of Bridget and her husband James McCutchion back in 1855 Swansea as its just too tempting to resist not doing so!  I just cannot believe how many folks are researching these days...must be enormous.

Yes family history research is very popular and very obsessional ;D ;D

There is a Bridget Kennedy on the 1871 Census in Rutherglen aged 38.

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/VBPB-1YL

Unfortunately Familysearch don't give much info on their Census records. But it looks like this Bridget was not born in Scotland. Her age doesn't tie with your Bridget on the 1851 but errors can be made!
And of course Bridget could have been economical with the truth when meeting husband no 2 ;D
She could have knocked a few years off ( wouldn't be the first or last to do that)

Looby :)

Well done annep

So it looks like Bridget was certainly not married in 1864 when she had Sarah.
And it also looks like shes only aged 8 years in 20 ;D ;D
Maybe the 1851 Census should have been 26? But her age is definitely not consistent :-\. Perhaps she didn't know her correct age?
And using the name Elizabeth in 1871  :-\
