Trip of a lifetime to Sydney for Mary.
« on: Friday 17 January 14 15:49 GMT (UK) »
Mary Lindsay Beaton Fleming Walker (spinster) aged 82yrs was a passenger on the P&O ship Himalaya, sailing from London to Sydney, 5th Sept 1951. Her address at this time 70, Stock St. Paisley, Glasgow.
Most of her siblings had emigrated to Canada. As far as I know she had no relatives in Australia, or did she?
If anyone can help with any information at all, I'd be very much obliged.
Thanks.
LB.

I am assuming she went on a holiday as at 82 years of age she would not have been emmigrating. What makes you think she had any other connection to Australia other than a holiday destination?

To acertain if she had relatives here we would need a lot more background information.

Thanks for your reply, Neil.
I was merely intrigued that Mary should take such a long haul holiday and wondered if maybe one of her brothers Alexander Beaton Fleming Walker b1865 Clyde Glasgow, could've been in Australia or maybe he died there. It's just guesswork/clutching at straws, as I've nothing else to go on and was hoping for a lead.
Thanks anyway.

No problem ecept it would be impossible to trace anyone without some information on them. IE parents names spouse if any siblings ETC.

There are six states and two territories in Australia, each has there own BDM records. So attempting to find someone without even a possible state would be mind boggling. If you really want to trace a person you KNOW came and stayed in Australia, we can certainly help.

No deaths recorded in NSW for either Alexander Beaton Fleming Walker between 1945 and 1982 or
Mary Lindsay Beaton Fleming Walker between 1951 and 1982.
