Look up please info on William Jamieson (1838)

Hello Thanks for looking at this,I'm looking for info on  a William Jamieson b 1838 Paisley Scotland and married to Mary Mcpherson he was in the forces but which one? his father was George jamieson and Mother was Ann cochran if this is any help.if i can find out which forces it will help with my tree.           Many thanks

Hello GB,thanks for being the first to get back ,i'm trying to find what Army? he was in and this might help me find out where my GGrandad was born because on the all the infomation i can find is England ?William (1838) had private on his son marriage cert.thanks Kevin

what was his sons name,,and when and where was he born ?   when exactly did he get married?  there ios a service record for the William Jamieson available to download on Findmypast...if you tell me when the son got married,,i can check the record and see if he was a private at that time,,,i do know he was promoted to corporal at some stage,,,,he also spent 15 years in India/East Indies.

Thanks for that GB thats great info so far,He was married in paisley on 23rd june 1858his son was William henry Jamieson b 1858 he got married in govan 1886ish.Kevin

According to the service record,,,this William  attested on 3rd July  1858,,,{which is just after your William married}   he was made corporal on 1st July  1860.

according to my records William Jamieson married on 13th june 1858 to MaryMcpherson.
