Major is a commissioned officer rank. If correct his appointments would be in the London Gazette.

Is this man related? - http://www.london-gazette.co.uk/issues/29687/pages/7487

I could not find your Felix though.

Ken

Where can I find that record
Do you think the soldiers in the photo were in Boer was uniforms
Just saw the gazette, I've never heard of Felix William before but there were many related Keenan's who I haven't connected yet in the Border Regiment. The attachment I enclose is our Felix

And I thought I was confused already  ???
My Major Felix Keenan died 8th July 1950, his father Felix Keenan died 30th Apr 1900
BUT, I have never been able to find the life of his son, Felix William Keenan b1898 at Shorncliffe barracks, Kent. I'm now guessing this is him. His mother was Matilda (Tilly) Cox

Thanks, Where did you find his obituary. I never really looked for this Felix before as I was more interested in the story of the 7 brothers
