Marriage of James Callear to Martha ??? (About 1851-1861)
« on: Monday 20 January 14 19:36 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I require help as I am unable to locate record of a Marriage of James Callear to Martha ??? (About 1851-1861)

The Census 1861 shows (Bradley Lane, Sedgley):
[#151] CALLEAR, James - Head - Married - M - 25 - 1836 - Coal Miner - Sedgley, Staffordshire.
[#158] CALLEAR, Martha - Wife - F - 23 - 1838 - Sedgley, Staffordshire.

James was unmarried on the 1851 census.
I believe Martha died in 1866 (so James has a new wife on the 1871 census).
I do not (yet) know the surname of Martha.

Note: James' father is named Solomon.

Help - please  ;D

I found James in 1841 but his name was spelt CALLIER and he was born in Shropshire and he lived in Dawley.

Likewise. I can trace him between the census records of 1841 to 1871.

I can not find his first marriage to Martha (hence this post).
I can not find him or his wife in the 1881 onwards census records.
Neither can I establish their years of death.

They remain one big mystery! Meantime, I am considering emigration (for them not me!!)
