KING Tombstones in Middle Claydon

Hi,  these are gravestone (I'm old) of my GGGGgrandparents.
Can anyone tell me what being a  "clerk of the Parish for this 50 years" might mean?   Census reports have William as a Ag Lab all his life except 1861 when "Parish Clerk" is shown in addition to Ag Lab.

I have no idea what cemetery these might be found in.
