FindMyPast have now uploaded some of the North Yorkshire records - certainly including baptisms and burials at Tadcaster and Healaugh  - YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!  No timetable set for the rest of the records, but they've made a start.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Their website states more records will be uploaded in 2015.

I emailed FindMyPast in November 2014 after finding so few records in North/East Yorks on the site.  Part of the reply I have pasted here:

"We have released all of the records that we have at the moment and if/when there are more to be released we will issue a newsletter."

I took exception to the word "if", seems like all these announcements are a con.  They then gave a stock reply and posted a link to the Yorkshire records that ARE available, info I asked for - I paste it here:

 http://www.findmypast.co.uk/articles/yorkshire-bishops-transcripts---parish-list

Now April 2015 and nothing new has been added as far as I'm aware.

Have pasted this onto similar thread on E Yorks thread.

Ancestry have WRY - or should I say West Yorkshire  :o :o as the records cover those areas now in West Yorkshire (from records at WYAS).  Although you will find some WRY records via the BTs on FindMyPast.

I have found WRY records on Ancestry useful, but they seem to be very patchy before about 1700.  I've exhausted W Yorks branches, and am waiting for FindMyPast to get it's act together, it's very frustrating.
Will be making field trips again this summer I think.

Thank you for posting the update, of sorts. I will hang on in there for a bot longer hoping they put more North Yorks records on, if not I will start searching again
James Stott c1775-1850. James was born in Yorkshire but where? He was a stonemason and married Elizabeth Archer (nee Nicholson) in 1794 at Ripon. They lived thereafter in Masham. If anyone has any suggestions or leads as to his birthplace I would be interested to know. I have searched for it for years without success. Thank you.

Today's Find My Past Friday releases include some great UK Britain and Ireland Newspaper entries!  I have found 8 records so far with entering only one name!  Great stuff!  Birth of a daughter, marriage of another daughter, his death and burial!  Also some insurance ads naming a son. Pretty good hit!

Sure to be something in there for Yorkshire!

Cheers
Jeanne 😄

Where are you looking for?  There weren't that many churches operating pre-1700, and there are gaps due to the Commonwealth period to consider.  I also notice from WYAS website that some incumbents have not allowed the uploading of records to Ancestry -

St John, Bierley
St James Thornton
St Peter Hartshead
Christchurch Liversedge
St James & St Saviour Heckmondwike
All Souls Norristhorpe
All Saints Roberttown

You can also check, via the Collections Guides, just which church records were in existence (held by WYAS), and from what date. Failing that, then the Borthwick Institute holds the BTs for the Diocese of York.
