The 'New Replies' link
« on: Friday 31 January 14 17:31 GMT (UK) »
Is there any way to remove a thread from the list of those to which one has replied such that new posts to the thread do not appear in the 'New Replies' link?

Hi Erato,

E-Mail notifications can be switched ON or OFF as we wish, but unfortunately, any posting we make on any topic means that this topic then appears our personal [New replies] list and we cannot influence this in any way.

For newcomers:
"New replies" is shorthand for
"someone has made a new reply in a topic in which you have also contributed".

regards,
Bob

Bob's right :)

You can also use the "Ignore Topics" option, if you go to "Profile" and go down to "Ignore Topic Options" you'll be able to put the topic in there so they won't appear when you press [ New Replies ].

Hi Trystan

I have a similar query to Erato's.

I've been trying to make this option work for ages but I can't seem to get it further than the below snip.  How can I get a topic entered into the list , please  :-\

Or is there anyone else who's managed to make this feature work  :-\

To ignore a topic, when you see it in the list of Replies (or Unread Posts), then tick the topic you want to ignore (there is a little selection box on the right), then press the putton at the top of the list that says "Ignore Topics".

In the picture below, you can see that I've selected the topic called "George Hodgson" (as an example) and I've clicked the button "Ignore Topics" (it turns dark as you hover over it).

You'll see your Ignored Topics in your Profile under the "Ignore Topic Options" where you can quite bizzarely un-ignore topics that you've ignored before.

All the best,
Trystan

My screen doesn't look like that.  I don't have any 'Ignore topics' button.

Nether does mine. There's a tiny box but when I click it, it just opens up the thread  :-\

I'll have a play but no one I've spoken to about it (apart from Trystan) has this.

PS - I don't have 'Mark Selected as Read' either - only 'Mark all messages as unread'
