Something strange about that one- event date 1849 but registration date 1845  ???
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FTBT-762

Can't see an extracted marriage for 1845 but if it is 1849 here's one with groom as Peter McGravy-
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FG63-FH8
which matches- https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FTBT-6PG

Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Thanks,  I got that from Ancestry Irish listing so I suppose there could be a transcription error,
not unknown ,the only certainty hopefully will be Anne McDonald as wife.

If there is more than one marriage on the same page then there will be other choices/ Was there a particular name you were looking for as the groom?

Seems to be 2 couples on that page-

Anne McDonald & Peter McGravy https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FG63-FH6
Philip Butler & Catherine Holmes https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FGF3-HDJ

No , I have been trying to get to grips with my girl, all I have is Ann born abt 1825 in Carlow,
I know that very vague to say the least, in the 1901 census in England she is lodging with a John
McDonald also from Carlow born about 1829/30, so I thought was that her name, its very long shot
but I've found to try any avenue may uncover some thing, how ever strange.

Did they have any children in England? if so, birth certificate should give mother's name (including maiden name)

This Ann was living with one of mine after his first wife died, but there is no record found for any marriage, they had 1 child but she was not recorded either in the bmd or bp, but have no idea it the child was hers/there's or by another as she turned up in 1866, so I thought if I could find who Ann was.
