Any advice or information depends on whether he was born before or after the start of civil registration of births (1864).

Without probable time period it is almost impossible- however there is a birth entry in the civil registration index for a Thomas Robert Nicholl in 1884 Bawnboy (Cavan county) Oct-Dec Vol 3 page 45 and a death for what is possibly the same person in 1894.

Hi aghadowey,

I now have the County Of Armagh for his birth place, he may have been born around 1918 to 1922, he worked for the railway as a plate fitter...........does this help any?
