His niece is next door to me and she asked to find out if there was any info that could be found, her older sister remembers him and their mother often spoke of him after the family parted ways.

Surely they must know his first name then?

You would have thought so wouln't you? their parents seperated and they never saw their uncle again and that was in the 50's, my neighbour has asked her sister but she doesn't remember his name either, I told her without a name there isn't much anyone can do.

The only lead is the parents  but that was a dead end also.

I think I will just leave it at that for now.

Thank You

Hello,

Could he be Samuel John? There aren't many Nicholl births in the right time frame. There is a Samuel John Nicholl https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FBRN-4ZR.

Rootsireland Armagh http://armagh.rootsireland.ie/index.php indicates that there is a Samuel John with mother Lewers.
You need to register but can search the index for free. You would then need to purchase credits to check results.  :-\

Hi Heywood,

Thank you so much for your help, I think you have the right person due to Samuel's father also named Samuel so thinking he was named for him,

I will search the site you have given me and go from there.......greatly appreciated.

Regards
