Hi Raggyroo

What was his occupation? Have you tried to find him and Margaret in 1901/11? Not sure which of their children you may be following.

The only couple I can see with an Inverness connection (and a birth year close to what you have for Robert) in 1901 is this one:

Robert Thomson 30 Railway Engine Driver, b. Aberdeen
Maggie Thomson 30 b. Glenurguhart, Invernessshire
Donald Thomson 4 b. Glenurguhart, Invernessshire
Robert Thomson 2 b. Glenurguhart, Invernessshire
Peter Thomson 3 Months b. Inverness

Address: Haugh Rd No 29, Inverness

What was Robert's father's occupation on his 1895 marriage? Margaret's age, parents' details and witnesses?

I thanks or your reply I think it may be the right family but here is the info you asked for Roberts occupation wen married was an engine driver in a sawmill they were married by a warrant but I coudnt make out the witnesses names sorry. Margret was a domestic servent and her parents was Donald McDonald and a mary lee. Roberts fathers occupation was a house carpentier (master) as far as I can work out but the cert wasn't very good written. but in more search the nite I have found margarets death she died on the 16 dec 1937 at age 64 at 44 south drive inverness hope that helps just going to check cen records now x

Sorry but your reply above is very confusing - can you look at it again and clarify exactly who you are looking for and their details
