BELGIUM refugees in Monaghan, Ireland from 1914 until after WW1

On October 30th 1914 fifteen Belgian refugees arrived in Monaghan, Ireland from Mechelen/Malines, south of Antwerp. After the war they returned to home to Belgium.

If anyone in Mechelen could help identify descendants of the refugees who came to Monaghan town
or if they know of any Belgian refugees who spent time in the county, please contact:
