...From the inscription at the end, I guessed that it had been erected on the death of Henrietta Nicol, however, she would have been older than 65 in 1862 as she and William were married in 1798.  William is included in the census of 1851 (aged 72) but I can't see him after that....


More likely the year of death for Henrietta Nicol or Bone would be 1832 at the age of 65 as showing on Lodger's sources?

Thank you, again, Monica, you have been very helpful.  My father and I had both, independently and with a large number of years between, written 1862, but as Henrietta isn't appearing in the 1841 census, you are quite correct in thinking it more likely that her date of death was 1832.  Just shows how easy it is to get mixed up!
