Anyone else researching this name (any spelling variant)?

The earliest ancestor appears to have moved to Runcorn from Liverpool after marrying Winsford girl Mary Pye in 1840.
Cross (Lancs), Hughes (Frodsham), Price (Cumberland), Brown(Liverpool/Cumberland), McNorton/McNaughton (Liverpool), Corker (Ches.),
Saban, Rose (South Lincs),Wilson (Pontefract), Wright (North Lincs)

Oh yes. McNorton or McNaughton, both used in 19th century.
My maternal ancestors are easily traced after 1816/7 when they left Liverpool for Widnes and Runcorn.
Family oral tradition is "stonemasons from  Pitlochry". However Liverpool is close to Ireland!
Did you ever get a lead before 1816? I would appreciate a clue.
Best Wishes
Kit
