Julie:

I have just started to fill in the Australian side of my Austen Family Tree.

I have the Benjamin Child and Helen Austen in my tree.

Is there anyway you could forward me dates etc for his immediate family.

Would be greatly appreciated!

I also am interested in Lilly and Rayner. I don't know how the Lilly's are related to me yet. they are Quakers and non-conf. and show up as related in my Quaker Hawkins marriage in Colchester. John Lily/Lilly d. in 1729, m. in 1688 to Margaret Mernington who d. 1737, all in Colchester. their children were Margaret who m. John Jeffries, John who m. Hannah Mason, Benjamin who d. in 1731 aged 20 and Hannah who d. 1750.

I descend from Susanna Rayner of Harwick at the time of her marriage, in 1680 in Colchester, a Quaker marriage that shows up in the digest but the record itself is not in the film of records, so it was severely miss-indexed or removed prior to filming-though none other marriage in my family is.

Hi Julie,

The following is probably of little use to you but here goes anyway ;D

Elizabeth Perrin buried 16 June 1745 at Netteswell, no qualifying info attached to the entry.

Found in the SEAX online Prs D/P 33/1/2 on image 24 and online Transcripts D/P 33/1/3 on image 80.

The only thing I think can be assumed is that Elizabeth (probably) wasn't an infant, when an infant was buried it was usually noted in those PRs.  By the way I didn't notice Elizabeth's baptism.

Regards
Concentrating currently on:
Essex: Card, Harris, Stowell, Theobald/Tibbles & Turner.
Norfolk: Beale, Cork & Dalton.
Yorkshire: Oswald Sturdy birth/baptism c1708, Oswald where the devil are you?

Census Information is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk

thanks, Julie,
your husband's Rayner's are possibly the closest I've come to finding my Rayner's.
Susannah Rayner's husband, John Freeman, was of Acton, Suffolk at the time of their marriage, and very shortly after marrying in Colchester they removed to Walton, Suffolk. Acton is near the Essex border. Harwich is not too far from Walton, both of them on opposit sides of the mouth of the Rivers Stour and Orwell. I wish I knew why they left Colchester. they married there because Harwich meeting folded. not enough Quakers in the area to keep it going. unfortunately the Harwich records were lost.
I'm on the "WeAreRayners" list at MSN's message boards (unable to post as MSN has locked me out for the 5th time-nothing to do with me, they keep revamping things and it keeps throwing everything off) and they are mostly London and Kent Rayners.
I'd love to know more about your husband's Rayners to see if there is a connection.
