Did the couple marryin Australia? Did they live there too, or return to England after their marriage? When did son William come to Australia?

What leads you to believe he was born in Burnley?

On the 1871 census there are three William Pillings with father William born in Lancs around 1868. None born Burnley, none with middle name George. I have not extended the search to include misspellings of the surname or other variants.

What is William snr's occupation? This might help narrow down the right family. Do you know the names of any of William jnr's siblings?

Do you have the family in the 1881 census? :-\

Hello,

This one could be a possibility. 1871 4027/30/6

William Pilling 2 yrs second son of William Pilling, Chemist and Victoria Elizabeth Ann. He is born in Salford.
In 1881, he is boarding at a school in Ashton (nearby).
In 1891 parents are in Manchester, Ancoats where dad is the Chemist at Provident Dispensary but no sign of William.

Regards
Heywood

That's great  :)

Just post if you can't access the details yourself. Someone will be able to check them and transcribe the records.

I was looking to see if an address was Holly Bank but none of the houses has a name.
