  ... there are a number of family trees at ancestry.com for this William Robert WILKINSON (died at Invercargill).   It's possible Emily was his 2nd wife ?

I'll go back and check over them to see what else can be had.

Hi

Sorry to say that none of the various trees record William Robert WILKINSON's wife named Emily.
They mention his marriage in 1910 to an Annie BLACK (although she appears in NZ marriage records 1910 as "Annie SMOLENSKI")   There was apparently one child > dau. Annie Mary b. 1911 of that union.    So none of that is of much help to you. 

I did a quick check of the electoral rolls and found no obvious "children" sharing an address with Emily and William (that is not to say that there wasn't issue from the marriage.)

Not of great importance,  ... but noticed that there was also a Divorce record (ex Invercargill Court) for WILKINSON - William Robert v. WILKINSON - Annie ... dated 1922.
