I would appreciate help with finding the church where Mary Bowen is buried. widow of
George Bowen.  George is buried in Corfu.
Mary died 4 May 1857 Severn Port, Llanidloes                                                                                     also have information Mary was buried on the 5th May 1857
and her abode, Long bridge Street Llanidloes.
So where would she have been buried in Llanidloes....  which Church Yard?
Her parents were John and Mary Leeke  who also lived in Llanidloes. and died here also.
Their resting place would also be good to know maybe the same place as their daughter Mary!

Many thanks for any help

Hi

From the burial entry in the parish records, it would appear that she was buried in the church yard of the parish church.

Contact details for information here:

added - Mary Leeke/s, 1846  and John Leeke, 1850- entries suggest that  they  was buried in the above Church Yard

Hi Gadget
Thank you for your information.   I have looked at the contact details and the
parish Church does not have an email contact address at the moment...does not
say how long until it will be restored.... as I live in New Zealand I am wondering
is there a contact where some kind person would be able to go to the Church
or be able to find the graves for me or has a list of the people in the grave yard.

Hi decota

It might be that someone lives in the vicinity and migth be able to go for you but you'd have to put up a request for that  - maybe start a new thread/posting with 'Does anyone live in the Llanidloes area, please'
as the subuject line. Alternatively, you might contact the Montgomeryshire G of Powys  FH Societies:

http://www.montgomeryshiregs.org.uk/

http://www.powysfhs.org.uk/

or, do you have access to Skype?

Hi decota

Because they're not in the MIs doesn't mean that they're not buried there - It just means that there isn't a gravestone for them. Certainly they were buried there - they are in the records of burials.

Good Luck.

I've not got many gravestones - they were mostly too poor for one -  but I've got lots of burials!
