I wonder if anyone could look up was the wife of Abram Naden who had Richard Wain living with him as a stepson in the 1861 census. Perhaps if we know who his mother is and who she was married to before Abram Naden I could connect Richard and Issac?

Well that's helpful- her name is E  :(

1851 census ....in Hartington.

Abraham Naden head 46 farmer of 300 acres.b Hartington
E Naden wife 46 b Quarnford Staffs
William Wain 23 stepson farm labourer b Hartington
William Wain 10 " scholar b Hartington (yes a 2nd one!)
Isaac Naden 13 son ,farmers son b Hartington
Sarah j Naden 9 dau farmers dau b "

There's a Richard Wain 59 and family next door,also a farmer of a 100 acres,possibly related?

Marriages in Macclesfield in March 1847.

NADEN    Abraham         Macclesfield    19   128
Wain    Ellen         Macclesfield    19   128

Could this be Ellen in 1841 with Richard? There may be no connection between Richard and Isaac as apart from the marriage there is no proof that Ernest's father was Richard Wain. I think you need his birth certificate to see what that says.

That`s very interesting it shows where Richard Wain comes from. But yes I think I will need the birth cert to say who the daddy is, that is if has been recorded. Will try that.
