Miss M. R. Larminie described as playing with conspicuous success – she won the All England Singles in 1911 and as Mrs M R Tragett in 1912. She come back in 1928 to take the singles title again and add to four ladies’ doubles and two mixed titles. She edited the Badminton Gazette for a time in 1922 being paid £75 a year. She wrote many articles on playing badminton, and published a book -Badminton for beginners. As Margaret Rivers Larminie she wrote three popular novels, Search, Echo and Deep Rivers.
