Baptism look-ups - St Davids' Cathedral and St Peters - Cardiff

Hi,

I have details of baptisms of many of my ancestors.

There are a few that I would like to try to find the details of if anybody can help.

I believe the records of St David's Cathedral and St Peters Church (Roath) up to 1915 are held at the Glamorgan Records Office.

I have found that my family seemed to use either St David's or St Peter's for their childrens baptisms up to about 1887.

From 1887 onwards they seemed to use only St. Peters.

The ancestors I am looking for are:-

1. Mary Catherine Svombo (sometimes spelt Swambo) - she was born
August 1876. parents Lazarus Svombo and Anastasia Mazzei.
I think I have seen her baptism before, and she may not be listed under Svombo.

2. Frederick Rocco Bernardi (sometimes just referred to as Rocco) -
he was born in May 1878, but I am sure that I have seen his details before, and he may have been included in the register as Mazzei.
Parents Rocco Bernardi and Mary Catherine Mazzei.

3. Bernard O'Keefe - born early 1911 - mother Anastasia Ellen O'Keefe
- born out of wedlock and died only a few months old so may not have been baptised.

4. Lilian Frances Monaghan - born 1902 - parents Robert Joseph Monaghan and Rosina Mazzei.

5. Austin James Monaghan - born 1904 - parents Robert Joseph Monaghan and Rosina Mazzei.

6. Rosina Monaghan - born 1905 - parents Robert Joseph Monaghan and Rosina Mazzei.

7. Kathleen Monaghan - born 1906 - parents Robert Joseph Monaghan and Rosina Mazzei.

8. Mary Irene Monaghan - born 1908 - parents Robert Joseph Monaghan and Rosina Mazzei.

9. Marie Monaghan - born 1910 - parents Robert Joseph Monaghan and Rosina Mazzei.

10. Mary Monaghan - born 1912 - parents Robert Joseph Monaghan and Rosina Mazzei.

11. Robert J Monaghan - born 1914 - parents Robert Joseph Monaghan and Rosina Mazzei. (died young so may not have been baptised).

12. Kathleen Carney - born 1906 - parents Patrick Carney and Elizabeth Mazzei.

13. Olive May Carney - born 1908 - parents Patrick Carney and Elizabeth Mazzei.

14. Phyllis Marie Carney - born 1910 - parents Patrick Carney and Elizabeth Mazzei.

15. Lilian Mary Carney - born 1912 - parents Patrick Carney and Elizabeth Mazzei.

16. George Carney - born 1914 - parents Patrick Carney and Elizabeth Mazzei.

Nb. - The Monaghan's lived in Constellation Street, Roath so were probably baptised at St Peter's.

However, the Carney's lived in Canton, so may not have been baptised there.

Hi again

I am again back on the trail of a couple of elusive baptisms from either St. Peter's (Roath), or St. David's Cathedral.

I am not sure if Bernard O'Keefe would have been baptised as he died young (1911).

However, I am sure that both Maria Catherine Svombo (1876) and Rocco Bernardi (1878) are both there, as I am sure I was sent a transcription years ago on floppy disc and can remember seeing them.

Something rings a bell that the register may have the godparents names mixed up with the parents, so Maria Catherine Svombo may be listed under Bernardi, and Rocco Bernardi may be listed under Mazzei.

If anybody is visiting the Glamorgan Archives, can you please check for me?
