What is a Engine Model Maker (G&M)

I have come across this occupation on the 1881 census of a 16 year old boy living in the Bolton area.  Can anyone tell me what a Engine Model Maker (G&M)

Either the obvious  ;D ..... or

Engineers and builders used to have scale models built of their projects for the clients. Often these models were for display purposes in company boardrooms and so they were an example of the finest apprentices work.

Many of the models on display in todays museums were such "models"

Thanks Falkyrn,  I thought the same as you as scale models of a full engine for sales purposes but what was bugging  me more was the G & M would this be a name of a company or something else

Quite possibly and if it was a company, it was so well known in the area that the enumerator was confident enough to simply scrawl the initials.
