you got to laugh .. contacted FindMyPast, concerning the printing of the Transcript page, having to fit the 2 pages on to 1 page, meaning the text is to small to read ...they told me to ..to save the document, then, copy and paste and edit the document for what I want ...what..i know I am not the only one with this problem..it,s on there freed back..don't they realize they have a problem

I haven't read the entire thread, so it may have been said before. But what you are getting is what we've had to put up with in the Australian version for a while. I hate it. And they've made it clear they have no intention of fixing it. All we got was we are changing the UK version to this one so it must be good. No, it's not good it just means you are expanding an already flawed model.

They are basically dumbing down the service to appeal to a mass audience like Ancestry but what they fail to realise is that the more experienced users, the ones most likely to stick with their research, liked FindMyPast because it allowed you to search only specific datasets and gave you features like address searching on the census'. With all that gone, what is the point?

I am just looking at some PR's for a parish in Wales, the image has come up and across the top of the page it states 'This page is in Welsh would you like to translate it? Translate /Nope

The parish register that is shown is in English and so is the translation  ;D

To be honest, I've never liked the FindMyPast interface. I much prefer Ancestry - particularly the keyword feature that I find much more effective than birth or residence. Not crazy about Ancestry's upgrade, but there's not a huge difference.
FindMyPast hasn't moved me over yet, but the limited search options mean I tend to only use it as a back up or for merchant navy, military & newspaper searches

Good afternoon all,

I try to do all my own research before posting on Rootschat - I think it rude to expect other people to do your work for you so try to use it only when I hit a brick wall - mainly I use Findmypast, however was horrified to find today they have changed the format and not only finding it unwieldy and clunky but it seems to be missing at least two valuable tools - the ability to find the children of a marriage by using the mother's maiden name to filter the search results, and the marriage-finder facility.

Surely I am not alone in being very disappointed in the new format?
