John Forrest emigrated from Scotland to Australia

 I am seeking information on John Forrest who immigrated to Australia any time from 1868 onwards.
I do not have any information about him and this is just a chance to see if anyone recognises a connection to this name.  He most likely lived in Lanarkshire, Scotland.

 I know this is a shot in the dark but it is worth a try.

I have been trying to check passenger lists to Australia.  For Scottish immigrants which port would they most likely sail from?

Any help appreciated.

Sorry I do not know that.  I am guessing he would be a young man when he left.

Hi, There was a John Forrest 1847-1918 in West Aust.
He was a surveyor, Premier, and there are parks  etc named after him.
This is a long shot...until we have more info from you.
I don't know if he was from Scotland.

Thanks.  He was a ploughman in Scotland and he would have left Scotland definately from 1868 onwards.
Appreciate the help I know it is a difficult search with so little to go on.

Sorry, just noticed he was born in Australia.   So not your man
his parents came here in 1842

This one might be too early 15th Dec 1860 arrived N.S.W on a ship called Lady McDonald John Forrest aged 24 and Isabella aged 22 Occupation Ploughman from Sterlingshire. Take Care Lynette
