Age slightly out BUT - New York Passenger List for Mary Achley born 1891 and aged 15 years. Liverpool to New York on the Majestic arriving 20 December 1906. Manifest markings would indicate naturalized 31/3/1940 - 8 - 183619 Going to lackawaana PA. Looks like a group all travelling together.

Elizabeth Achley (could easily be Ackley looking at the transcription) aged 47 years. Theresa Ackhley aged 9 years. Rececca Caine (going to husband James)  aged 26 years, Joe Achley aged 4 years, Annie May 3 years and Sarah May Achley aged 1 years. (Manifest markings for Sarah - indicate naturalized 4/2/41 - 8 - 220274)

The 8 would indicate district 8 which is Michigan

I found a passenger list with that group of Ackley's but it was for the Baltic, leaving Liverpool on 5 December 1906 and their names were crossed out 'nob' (not on board I presume)

May I ask where you found the manifest for the Majestic arriving 20 December?

PS _ i've just found it on the Ellis Island website - thanks for pointing me in the right direction, I never thought to put Achley as an alternative name!

I've just been reading the one on Ellis Island and I think the reason they didn't catch the Baltic is that one of the children had been in hospital.
