St Nicholas Church ,Catholic Marriages.
« on: Thursday 20 March 14 15:19 GMT (UK) »
I was wondering has anyone been able to get info From St Nicholas marriages circa 1900.
I am trying to find maiden names for mothers of the following marriage.
May 30th 1900 St Nicholas.
Guiseppe (Joseph) Savino (musician) Aungier St son of Guiseppe Savino,Farmer most likely Italy to
Mary Rose Gaspano(laundry worker) 27 Chancery Lane dtr of Francis Gaspano,Musician.
witnesses James Martin and Mary Ellen Gibbon.
Now family lore has it that the Savino's and Pacelli family of Dublin are first cousins as Mary Rose Savino was the Mother of Francis and Joseph Pacelli, and are believed to have come to Ireland together as young boys.
I know it will be hard to follow the Italian line of the Savino's but i was very intrigued by his wifes name of Gaspano born Dublin,so i decided to do a search age 23 on 1901 census with her husband at Aungier St so born circa 1876.
Searched indexes and got Mary R Gasparro for her marriage, searched births and baptisms 1620 to 1881 and got Female Gosparth 1877 dtr of Francis Gosparth and Kate Doyle, went to civil index for births and got Female Gosparg 1877.
Then looked on civil index for parents marriage and got Francis Gospard and Kate Doyle 1876.
So now you know why i would like to prove the mothers name as Kate or Catherine Doyle.
Any input greately appreciated.
Thanks
Dathai.
P S , I had found a Mary Rose Gasparro in 1901 age 16 in Kingstown but do not know if there is a relationship to Gaspano.

So now i can surmise that the Mary Rose Gasparro in Kingstown age 16 is the daughter of Nicholas going by the Rathdown registrations.

An Anthony Gasparo married in 1882 in Rathdown - is he not more likely to be the father of the other Mary Rose ?

It would look like Anthony's first wife Mary Josephine died in 1888 and Anthony remarried in 1892 in Rathdown.
