Hi just found that we are related to Swigg family of Pelynt/Morval Cornwall.   Our ancestor was Francis Swigg who married Robert Cornew in St Germans on 19th July 1777.

Is she a relation of yours?

I have the marriag of Francis Swigg and Robert Cornew in my file but I haven't yet found a soilid connection to my blood-line Swiggs (I have around 50-60) who are primarily from Menheniot, Cornwall. Pelynt is just 7 miles South West as the crow flies so for a relatively unusual surname like Swigg I would imagine that the chances are quite good that they are related in some way.

I think I have the parent of both Do you have any other detail?

Thanks a lot Harry.  We have found parents and siblings of Frances Swigg and this is all quite exciting for us as we love finding a new family name especially if it is unusual!

We think like you that all the Swiggs were probably related>

Are my SWIGGS related to yours

Susannah SWIGG born 1830 Plymouth Devon (my GGG Grandmother)

her father James SWIGG born 1784 Plymouth Devon

her possible  grandparents:  James Swigg, christened 5-6-1764 Morval, Cornwall.
 James SWIGG married Isabel Lettenn, 11-8-1782, East Teignmouth Devon

(if the grandparents are correct then) Great Grandparents:
James SWIGG & Ulalia

Hi there - we need to do some more investigating into the Swiggs as we are descended from the Morval/Pelynt Swiggs (Francis) = we need to find out if there is a James related to our Francis - we'll keep in touch!!!!
