Hello U3,

First I would suggest you read all of the Postings on this Topic, and on the related Topic which I have Posted at the following Link:

Topic: 'Thomas TURNBULL - Merchant of Hawick, Roxburghshire, Scotland.'
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,59474.0.html

This will give you an idea of the names I am researching and related names.

The 'TURNBULL' names I have detailed are my GGG Grandparents & GGGG Grandparents.

The areas of Roxburghshire that my ancestors had a connection to, that we know of at present are:
Hawick, Lanton, Bedrule, Minto, Southdean, possibly others.

Kelso has not come up as yet, within the 'TURNBULL' & associated family lines.

*  There is a Margaret (sibling of my GGG Grandfather).
*  We do not have a Marg(a?)ret Marshal TURNBULL.
*  The surname of MARSHAL has not appeared.
*  'MARSHAL', is more than likely a direct maiden name, of your Grandmother's ancestors.

*  What was your Great Grandfather's name ?
*  Do you have any other names and dates ?

Also suggest Posting separate 'Topics' relevant to your own research, this can only benefit you.

Hope I have been of some help.
Jeanette H.

Hello Gilbert,

Sorry I could not get back to you before this, but we have been away for a couple of days.

Welcome to my 'TURNBULL' Topic (which is one of two 'TURNBULL' Topics) I have posted on Roxburghshire.

The other Topic is below:

Thomas TURNBULL - Merchant of Hawick, Roxburghshire, Scotland.
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,59474.0.html

You said that you have a George TURNBULL (born 1818 in Howick).  [Do you mean Hawick?]

If you visit the other Topic, you will see that I also have a George TURNBULL (born in 1818, in Hawick, Roxburghshire, Sct.)

Could this be the same person?

I would be interested in hearing about your George TURNBULL connections.

Hello Gilbert,

Just curious, what would be your connection with this George TURNBULL (ch 2nd April 1818, Hawick, Rox. Sct.)?

I am rather confused at the present, as the George TURNBULL (who is my GG Grandfather - was ch. 2nd April 1818, Hawick, Rox. Sct.).
His Parents were Thomas TURNBULL & Jean (Jane) VEITCH.

My George TURNBULL, Emigrated to Australia, Married in Australia, and had Children in Australia.

Jeanette H.

I hope you do not mind if we continue this discussion about 'George TURNBULL' (born 1818), on my other Topic, as I feel it would be more relevant.

I am currently going through my research material, so I will be posting further information shortly relating to the connection between Thomas TURNBULL & Jean (Jane) VEITCH, and their son George TURNBULL.

So please click on the URL below:
Thomas TURNBULL - Merchant of Hawick, Roxburghshire, Scotland.
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,59474.0.html

All will be explained or clarified as to what we know of so far, perhaps we can work out some of the confusion and duplication.

Thanking You,
Jeanette H.
