Henry Pattenden or Patynden of Peckham, along with Ralph, John and James Pattenden, were in Common Pleas 1567 to 1585. They were in a family feud with John Comden of Goudhurst, about 4 miles from East Peckham. In 1567 Henry, Ralph, John and James had property in Goudhurst, but after that they were of Peckham.
In 1567: Henry Patynden, Ralph Patynden, John Patynden, James Patynden versus John Comden of Goudeherst, yeoman, for trespass: breach of close on their property at Goudherst.

In Kent there was something called gavelkind or partible inheritance. Instead of the oldest son getting everything, the inheritance was shared equally.
There is a will of Henry Patenden of Goudherst, clothier, made 1549. He mentions a son Henry, daughters Anne and Joan, wife Dorothy, wife's children, brothers John and Thomas, and father Thomas.
https://www.kentarchaeology.org.uk/Research/Libr/Wills/Bk54/page%2062.htmThere seem to be two different Henry Pattendens. In 1567 Henry Patynden, of Gouthurst, Kent, clothier was a defendant in Common Pleas. The will of Henry Patenden of Gouthurst probate 1576. This was while the other Henry Pattenden was being described as of Peckham, yeoman.
http://aalt.law.uh.edu/AALT5/Eliz/CP40no1253/bCP40no1253dorses/IMG_0451.htmPossibly Henry of Peckham was the son of either John or Thomas, the brothers of Henry Pattenden of Goudhurst. Thomas, the father of Henry of Goudherst and John, was in Common Pleas in 1536: Thomas Pattenden, of Goodhurst, Kent, clothman.
http://aalt.law.uh.edu/H8/CP40no1088/aCP40no1088fronts/IMG_2956.htmStill earlier, in 1505, there was another Henry Pattenden of Peckam:
John Rote, of London, mercer versus Henry Pattenden, of Peckam, Kent, clothier and John Whyttoppe, of Goodhurst, Kent, fuller for debt.
