?highest ranked female RAF officer of her time

Can anyone help with information regarding Joyce Langley Butt who was born 1920, apparently as family have it she was the highest ranked female officer at her time need to confirm or disprove so any help would be great she was born woodcroft chepstow monmouthshire

Found a reference to this lady  being honoured in the 1952 new years honours list.....?

There is a marriage on freebmd for Joyce L Butt in September qtr 1940 (surname Connelly.)   This would mean any mention of her would presumably be in her married name or did she revert to her maiden name .  :-\
