I've just came back from Egremont graveyard and there is several Rooneys there, I noticed because there was a Shearer as well, I didn't take any details as I wasn't looking for Rooneys.

Found some Rooney's for ya, totally by chance but my mind seems to be full of Rootschatters names and I jot them down

All Holy Trinity Whitehaven burials taken from JAC 374 I think
1839 Feb 20 Hugh Rooney of ? Bankslane age 48
1824 Jun 16 Daniel Rooney of Strand Street, Whitehaven 12
1844 Feb 12 Mary Rooney of Mount Pleasant, Whitehaven, 15 cant make out if years or months though
1841 Mar 21 Hugh Rooney of queen St, Whitehaven 35
1847 May 28 B???ara Rooney of Infirmary 24 (not barbara, dont know gender)
1848 Apr 3 Mary Rooney Workhouse 21

Thanks Andrew.I must admit other people's search names stick with me too.Not quite sure whether they are mine-I think the eldest Hugh shown was killed in a pit disaster and I am sure there is somebody on the list researching this family--perhaps they will see this posting.The Mary's may be connected although mine were from Workington ,I will check my records.Thanks very much for the interest.
