Hi James

I live in Henfield, West Sussex.  I expect you know about the famous Borer who lived here.

Hello James

o dear...... sorry....... it turns out that William of Henfield is a Borrer..... my memory playing tricks on me.  Still, I should think Borrer is probably another variant of Borer.

"William Borrer (1781 - 1862) was a leading botanist of his time and was born in Henfield."  Check out http://www.henfield.gov.uk/museum.htm for more info and a photo.

Cheers

Hi,
Yes I thought that was who you meant. ;)

I agree that it was probably a variant but todate I have no evidence of that  name changing within any family, unlike BOORER and BORER . Probably have to get back to late 1600s before the variations appear .

Thanks for thinking of me .
Cheers James.

she married James Heald and lived for a while in Rose St Workingham ( 1871 and 1881 census)
If you have any information about her I would be eternaly greatful as I believe she is my Great Great great Grandmother on my Maternal side
