Thanks very much Grub,

This is the family I am looking for.
The second list I beleive to be relatives of Richard who had been married before he married Cath. She is the Bailey from my family and was sister to my Great, Great, Great Grandfather.

I will  now have to check  the second list to see if they are direct descendants.

Once again, many thanks, Bruce

You're most welcome, Bruce :D

My gr grandfather was also on the "Emerald Isle", but he was a convict sent to Australia in 1843.

No connection of course, but the ship name caught my attention.

Happy hunting,
Valerie

Thanks Valerie.

May be a long shot but would it be easy to check if a Fisher Jewson was on any ship to the USA. Much the same time maybe a little later. No exact dates for that.

Also, sorry about all the questions, do you have any means of checking ships and passengers to Australia in 1912ish. I am looking for a Frank Bailey aged 26 in 1912 who went to New South Wales

Hi Bruce
Unfortunately, Fisher is being more elusive on the emigration lists.

I did find him on the 1860 US census in Wisconsin.
His eldest child, Frederick, was age 2.
If we give him time to arrive in NY, make his way to Wisconsin, meet and woo Phebe, we could estimate his arrival at about 1855-1856.

I don't have access to any immigration to Australia lists, but Rootschat has an Australia board. I'm sure our volunteers there will be happy to try to help locate Frank Bailey.

There is also a MSN group for NSW research that I use frequently...
http://groups.msn.com/NSW families.
People who volunteer there have been a wonderful help to me.

Will keep an eye and an ear out for further information on Fisher Jewson.  Sorry I couldn't help this time around.

Kind regards,
Valerie

Thanks for your help Valerie.

I found Fisher in the 1860 Wisconsin census but can not yet find further information. I have found 4 Jewson families, all from England, living together in Fond Du Lac in that census.

Another member of our family has put a post on the Australia board but, as yet, has had no response. I will try again.

Thanks Thelma,

Another little bit to add to the tree.
We do have the info on Richard and his two wives but the info on Elizabeth is new for us Thank you.
Catherine Bailey was also married twice, hence the name Breeze. This was her first husbands name.
