« on: Friday 11 April 14 17:21 BST (UK) »
Hello, I have been searching for my Terry family, my ggg grandfather
Was John Terry b 1796 in Wrotham Kent, I know he had 2 brothers Samuel b1799 and William b 1806
I also know Johns parents were Samuel Terry and Ann Braybon, would really like to go back a bit further or to find out what Samuel's occupation was or any information  would help me so much

Hi AddictSE7,

Have you already found this family on the early Censuses?

Was your chap a Banker, living at Piatt Grange, Wrotham?

'John Terry. Esq.. C.C., F.R.G.S.. Piatt Grange, Wrotham, Kent, and 31,Cheapside, E.C. Bankers'.

If he was, there are two newspaper articles mentioning him on the FindMyPast Site.

But... there seem to be several other John Terry's who are Labourers!

He was a labourer

Have you got him on the 1841 Census? I can post if you haven't.
