I am wondering if anyone can help me to find information on my great-grandfather? I have very little information to go off of. I do know his name was Frederick Cave-Jones. I have been told that he went by Cave. He married my great-grandmother in 1930 Francis Alice Holden. I have found mutiple records of that. However the records say his name was Frederick Cave, Frederick G M Cave, Frederick Cave-Jones. My grandmother swears his name was Frederick George Henry Cave. That doesn't really work with what I found. I am leaning towards Frederick George Michael as my great uncle's name is Michael. She also told me that he was in the RAMC and gave me a number but I have no idea how search with the number. I'm not even sure what the number means. If any could help me or point me in the right direction that would be awesome!!

This is probably one of the marriage index records you have found.  Note that your ggrandmother's name is Frances not Francis .

Are these their children registered with surname CAVE mother's maiden name Holden.

Perhaps some certificates would be helpful. The  marriage cert would show his father's name and then you could hopefully find his birth.

This appears to be the death of the Frederick who was born Mar qtr 1906 Hackney.

Do you know if this is your ggrandfather's death?

Yes you are correct I misspelled her name. Yes I had found that record of their marriage. I have no idea when he would have died. My grandma never saw her father after she came to Canada. I know that my ggrandfather and ggrandma had divorced and she remarried and shortly after came to Canada.

Just a thought....perhaps Frederick's mother married a JONES at some stage.  That may account for the hyphenated name.

I suggest you purchase the 1906 birth certificate which would give you Frederick's parents name and if you can stretch it, the 1930 marriage certificate which should show Frederick's father's name which hopefully matches the 1906 birth cert.  It is possible there was some confusion with names at the time of his marriage.
