Possible Ancestral Link to Monmouth Rebels
« on: Sunday 13 April 14 13:23 BST (UK) »
Hi,

Just started searching for my ancestors through my fathers last name of Mullins, he was from Jamaica. I have been able to obtain a plausible link through the Monmouth Rebels Robert and George Mullins who were originally from Taunton, UK. And were shipped as Slaves to the West Indies for Treason in the 1600's.

I have found some great information through the Canadian online archive Library, which included their passage to West Indies and which Master they were given to, but after that my trail has gone cold.

I am trying to find more information on Robert and George Mullins and also my father and half brothers and sister. I know very little of each and do not know next steps?

any guidance would be gratefully appreciated.

Hi DD1555,

Welcome to Rootschat!  Have you chased your father's ancestry back to Robert and George Mullins, or are you looking to confirm that link?

Just be careful when you are talking about your father and his brothers and sisters - we aren't allowed to mention people who are alive
