Newcut , Bristol ?

Hello , I came actoss an old address in my late fathers diary circa 1941-44 giving an address of Clarence , Newcut , Bristol. I cant seem to find that address today . Any ideas welcome , just curious .

Clarence Road runs alongside the New Cut - there's probably a pub there as well

Thank you both , I think it may well have been a pub as the next entry on diary is a young lady living at the White Hart , Bedminster Parade .

My great grandmother was licensee of the Sherwood Tavern in 1899.  It was situated on the corner of Clarence Road and Somerset Street.

The Sherwood Tavern was at 155 Clarence Road.
The Nelson's Arms was at 175 Clarence Road.

Bedminster Parade is south of the river at the end of East Street, and The White Hart still exists!
