"Lynes" family of Earl Shilton, Leics.
« on: Monday 21 April 14 10:39 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I am tracing the Lynes/Lines family of Earl Shilton - does anyone have this family in their family tree?  I have a John Lynes being baptised on the 1st November 1775 at Earl Shilton and would like to be able to take this line back a little further - can anyone help please?

Not in my tree but there are several marriages at Earl Shilton, there are a couple of chaps that marry at Kirkby Mallory but they are of Earl Shilton. Can list them unless you already have them.

Hi Greenstree,
I had forgotten about putting this query on Rootschat as it must be 15 months since I did it.  As I remember there were several queries I had regarding the "Lynes" family from Earl Shilton.  The couple of marriages that you have might be of some help. I can't find the marriage of John Lynes circa 1795 - I have found his baptism on 1st Nov. 1775 at Earl Shilton his father being Joseph Lynes.  The "Lynes" you have marrying at Kirkby Mallory may be the men that I am looking for.  Any help that you can give would be very much appreciated.

Hi willsy,
Sorry I think I have just posted your reply to another member - there were two replies yesterday and I think in haste I have sent your answer to someone else.  Could you please let me know the two marriages you have in Kirkby Mallory for "Lynes" men who where living in Earl Shilton before their marriage.  Sorry for the mishap  - any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Hi greenstree,
I must apologise for sending your reply to another Rootschat member.  I had 2 replies yesterday to a question I put on 15 months ago and I think my head must have been muddled when I sent the replies. The "Lynes" I am looking for were living in Earl Shilton during the 1700's and moved about 1800 to Kirby Muxloe. The baptism I have for John Lynes (6th Dec. 1801) was at Kirby Muxloe his father being John Lynes who was himself baptised 1st Nov. 1775 at Earl Shilton. Hope that I have not confused you too much - its quite a while since I did this side of the family and hopefully can pick up the threads in the next few days. Many thanks.
