I think it is very possible.

I think I saw reference to a brother of W. Putnam also in the entertainment business, but I can't remember which words I searched on!

I came across an "A. Puttnam", also a harpist, but who was on the classical side rather than light entertainment, not associated with the various minstrel groups eg "Christy", "Mohawk", "Mississipi", etc.

The Northampton Mercury, 24 Oct 1885, has an item about "The Band of Harps", a group of five that included an "H Putnam" and an "A. Putnam"!!
