Mulhearn/Mulheran Co Mayo
« on: Friday 24 June 05 19:24 BST (UK) »
Looking for any trace of Michael and Bridget (nee Brogan)Mulheran b<1816>, parish unknown.  They had a daughter Mary b<1844> and a son James b<1846> before they left Ireland which was between 1846 and 1848, as by then they were giving birth to George, in Newcastle.

Spelling of Mulheran is of course guesswork.  On the York 61 census the spelling (and our first example) looks like Mallean, but on every one since the first four letters are Mulh.

We have no other information.

Although we do know that during the 1860's the street they lived in, in York, was crowded with Brogans!  If they were Bridget's rellies, I have'nt a clue!     It was just an interesting snippet .

Thanks

Windy

National Archives of Ireland

Perhaps you would like to have a look at these resources to see if there is anything that might help you.

Please come back with any further queries or to let us know how you get on.

Best wishes
