Bruyelle near Antoing Query
« on: Sunday 27 April 14 10:49 BST (UK) »
I can find few references to Bruyelle, three miles south-east of Tournai. Can anyone tell me where the name Bruyelle derives from? If from a specific person/family, did they have a coat of arms?
Cheers,
Bob

According to French Wikipedia, a possible etymology is a small heath?
Étymologie possible : petite bruyère

And the place was formerly known as Bruella (1187)
