Just wondering why my great grandfathers card does not show any medals?

His rank was driver & he served in France.
Cause of discharge:wounds.

Cant see him listed on another card but he was discharged wounds so should be entitled to british war and victory medals.
Usually SWB cards have them stamped...do you have his pair?

SWB=Silver War Badge.Awarded to men who were invalided out due to illness or injury.
Struck Jan. 1916 to protect men who could no longer serve.
The pair= British War & Victory Medals.
Can't see any service/pension docs. for him.

So am I right in thinking he should have had a silver war medal but maybe not any others?  We dont have any medals and no one remembers seeing any.

The SWB was a badge not a medal & worn on civilian clothes.
He served in France & therefore should have had campaign medals.

You sometimes find there are two cards when a SWB is awarded....he may have served with another number or it was a clerical error.
He was discharged so would have a pension.
The western front association has pension records available (not the ancestry ones) if you visit there site.Theres a cost for them though.
