Royal Sussex regiment
« on: Thursday 15 July 04 13:07 BST (UK) »
Can anyone give me any information on hospital records from France or Army records for the Royal Sussex Rgt please.
My GG Grandfather was with the 13th Btn Royal Sussex Regiment and 'died of wounds' in St Omer on 14th July 1916 having been injured on 30th June.  I have his death certificate with his Army number and have located his grave in St Omer but wonder if medical records are kept for soldiers wounded abroad, and if so where.
Also, I know a lot of the Royal Sussex records have been destroyed but can anyone direct me where to start to try and track down my GG Grandfathers Army records if they still exist.

Many thanks as always to all you helpful souls,

Not 100% certian but think this regiment was amalgamted with ither and is now the Princess of Wales Royal Regiment.  The Kent Buffs were part of the amalgamation.

They have a web site. Might be able to contact them direct
