looking for the marriage of william wilkinson to elizabeth ? possibly east retford or could be lincolnshire. William was born east retford c1845 ? Elizabeth, Lincoln. c1851? Any info greatly recieved.

Do you know who William's father was as I can check the marriage for you when I'm next in nottingham archives sometime over the next few weeks.

Also, you give Elizabeths year of birth as c1851, but are seeking marriage c1865 - when only 14?

OK so moiramount has 2 threads on same family! On the other thread she has elizabeth born abt 1840 and on this 1851 I'm a little confused now!

Anyway here's some christenings at East Retford of possible children, William is down as a Labourer on all of them:

28 March 1874 Sarah & James William abode has Horse & Jockey Yard,
all the rest abode is Canal St
15 March 1875 Eliza Ann

hi everyone, on the 1891 census elizabeth states she is 40 and william 46, then on the 1901 census she is only 45 when actually she should be 50 ten years on. Sorry to be confusing to you all.

Hi NG - in the other thread [see Kay's post] where I posted a possible 1871 census where there was a daughter Margaret aged 4 mo, the OP stated their children are
in the 1891 they are in East Retford on Canal Row with their sons James , William, Thomas and George.  
The 1871 William had a sister Alice, which could help to distinguish 2 families.

Is it me who is confused?  . There did seem to be several Wilkinson families in Canal Row & Sutton Row.

ADDED: AH yes, it IS me - I see from the baptisms you gave that William, Thomas & George were born  post 1881. Sorry  Presumably Walter died.

It has had me confused as well, with children appearing with  different names. I wonder whether Janet in 1881 was actually misheard and was James Wilkinson in 1891.   

I tried to check by looking back at William and his sister Alice pre 1871 but couldn't find anything!!
